Both are comprised of a plastic base that closely matches the shade of your gums and porcelain teeth attached to the base. Full dentures are generally secured in place using a combination of natural suction and dental adhesive, and partial dentures are typically held in place with discreet metal clasps.

During your initial consultation, Dr. Thompson will review your restorative options with you to help you decide if dentures are right for you. If you decide that you want implant-supported dentures, we can refer you to an oral surgeon and coordinate your surgery. Dr. Thompson will also assess whether any extractions are necessary. If you have decay or periodontal disease, these will need to be treated to provide your dentures a healthy foundation.

Once your oral health issues are addressed, Dr. Thompson will take impressions of your smile to ensure that your dentures fit and feel comfortable. To help you preview your treatment, we can provide a diagnostic wax-up. We can also provide a temporary denture to help you eat and speak normally while your custom dentures are being fabricated. Once your permanent dentures are ready for placement, you can return to our office for a final fitting.
